How To Charge Your Phone With Sugar

A team of research scientists have created the first ever fuel cell that produces electricity. The innovation behind these biofuel cells, according to researchers speaking at the American Chemical Society, is the remarkable ability to transform sugar and fats into energy sources which can be used to charge a large selection of machines and electronic devices; including laptops, and mobile telephoness.

With further research and devlopment, these devices may replace the dirty energy disposable and rechargeable batteries used in the bulk of today's consumer electronics. It is the first such device based on one of the microscopic parts of the billions upon billions of cells that make up the body."

"This is the first demonstration of a new class of biofuel cells," Saint Louis University chemist Shelley Minteer, Ph.D., who presented the report, said in a press statement. "When further developed, these devices have the potential for replacing disposable and rechargeable batteries in a wide variety of consumer electronics and other products. It is the first such device based on one of the microscopic parts of the billions upon billions of cells that make up the body."

Sugar, if it can charge your body, then it should be able to charge your cellphone, too.
